Shoveling steps, de-icing cars, managing for school closings, navigating snowy roads, bundling up the little ones, and checking in on our loved ones. These are the things that have been filling our days and consuming our minds. This year, especially, Mother Nature has a grip on us—and all her demands have created ice dams that hinder our inspiration flow.
Let’s warm up, together.
Yes, the skies are still bleak and our surroundings are stark. But, our minds are powerful. When we seek out the right mental stimulus, our inspiration will inevitably flow. And, once we truly feel inspired, we are naturally empowered to create positive change.
Whenever we get ready to tap into the power of our mind, it is a good idea to circle back to the premises that are central to hypnotherapy:
As you imagine, you become.
What you focus on, you amplify.
Fundamentally, hypnotherapy is self-hypnosis. When you expose yourself to the right stimulation, you will set the positive power of your mind in motion. We can all take comfort in knowing that we are wired to be inspired—it does not have be an arduous task.
Below, are five ideas to help you tap into your personal inspiration flow—and thankfully, these are things you can do on your own even if Mother Nature persists with this deep freeze for a couple more weeks.
Make a Personal Connection—Reach out. Call that person who delights you. Even if it has been a long time, make the call and feel the connection.
Use the Internet to Ignite—Pick a topic that mesmerizes you and dive in. Art, fashion, history, food, yoga, travel, whatever will indulge your brain and get ideas flowing. Remember, once you are excited and put your mind to something, you are connected to it and it takes over.
Reverse Negativity—Your mind will default to the strongest impression. Remove yourself from exposure to media with messaging that can detract from your positive mindset.
Let Go of Expectations—Unmet expectations can unnecessarily let you down. When you let go of expectations you are naturally in a receptive state.
Watch Your Words—Your subconscious is always listening. Use supportive phrasing and become your own source of positive reinforcement.
When we shape our behaviors in ways that acknowledge the power of the mind, inspiration is effortless and we are in a receptive state for positive change.
